Hi guys, I think you are playing the "We'll Be Back" rule wrong, in regards to the Necrons .
This ability can not be used against weapons that inflict Instant Death (those with a Strength double or more the models Toughness) or against CLOSE COMBAT weapons that allow no Armour Save (such as power weapons, Rending, etc).
So as you can see a Necron Warrior will still be able to get up from a Plasma Cannon shot as it is only S7 and Necron Warriors are T4; the AP of the weapon does not factor in to the rule.
Thanks for reading guys.
Jason.
P.S. love the pod cast!
Actually the AP of a weapon does go into effect, AP can cause instant death considering its AP 2 which ignores armour saves.

Yes but the rule says that only weapons that Ignore Armour Saves in CLOSE COMBAT. See what I mean? So an Eldar Autarch with 3 wounds and a 3+ save would not die outright from a Reaper Launcher as it is S5 AP3, it just does not get its armour save (though it does get its Inv), on the other hand if he gets hit by a Shuriken Cannon S6 AP5 he gets his save, but if he fails it, he is Instant Killed.
Actually Jason is correct, was a mistake on my end (which I got mixed up, not a big deal). AP weapons dont cause "instant death" per se, they just ignore the armour save.
Cheers Steve, just wanted to make sure all those marines that are having trouble with necrons, don't take off and buy all the Plasma they can find
lol
Again, love the PODCAST, find myself always checking up, looking for the next show...
Cheers,
Jason.
I'm sorry but your advice and tactics are terrible.
The error with Necron warriors & the plasma cannon has been pointed out by other comments, and honestly if you don't realize that or have your guys be aware of the fact that Tactical Squads have been able to buy more than Heavy Bolters & Missile Launchers for a long time, you really shouldn't be trying to give out "solid tactical advice".
The Ork advice was also poor. I don't mean to be negative, since I like Podcasts on the hobby, but the advice is terrible. You recommend anti-tank units, but pick the wrong one. Tankbustas are a terrible unit that are wholly inferior to Lootas in a number of ways, including survivability (because they have to get close, as opposed to being at long range, always in cover).
You recommend a Deff Dread for anti-tank, which is a terrible choice especially compared to Killa Kanz, and you ignore the idea that he was planning on transporting the mob of 19 or 20 Boyz in that.
Just in general, I'm not saying everything has to be 100% power gamer efficient, but some things are so terrible that I'd at least point it out, or point out what's the best options are.
Actually I thought it was good, tank bustas saved my ass many many times, ive been playing orks for a very long time. If you listened the guy (shelby or selby?) said he did NOT want lootas, hence why they didnt recommend them. They said they deff dread since it can be good for anti-tank but its good for CC.
Personally the dreadnoughts we're a decent choice and I can see why you chose them over the BW, saving on points but getting more out of it plus room to get other units in, but I probably would of went with something else. Again no one will ever agree on anything since everyone has their own "vision".
Sorry guys for mistake. I was under the impression that plasma did count because our necron player back in the day said it did. We all just assumed that he was reading his codex correctly in that regard.
The above Steve wasn't me just to let everyone know.
